The Owners

Robert and Tom Hoffmann are the owners of Hoffmann Brothers Heating and Cooling. Since starting Hoffmann Brothers in 1988, the company has grown from 4 employees to over 45. Hoffmann Brothers specializes in both residential and commercial heating and coolling.

 

Both UMR graduates, Robert and Tom each have a BS in Mechanical Engineering. Tom started his career with McCarthy Brothers Construction where he was an Engineering Project Manager for about 6 years. Robert started his career with Procter and Gamble in Cincinnati, Ohio. Both Robert and Tom currently are co-owners of Hoffmann Brothers Heating & Cooling.

Tom graduated from Vatterott Technical College with a HVAC degree in 1991.  Tom is currently licensed in sheet metal, HVAC, pipe fitter, electrician, and plumbing. Tom has continued education in factory training courses from Lennox, Carrier, Burnham, and Copeland.  In 2004, Tom was awarded the Better Business Bureau’s World Class Customer Satisfaction award.

Robert serves on the board of the Air Conditioning Contractors of America and was the President for two years. Robert was voted Air Conditioning Contractors Man of the Year in 2000, 2001, and 2002.  This award is given for leadership and contribution to the HVAC industry.  Robert has served on the Kappa Sigma House Corporation for over 20 years, 12 of which as President. In 1995 he was honored as the Kappa Sigma man of the year.  Robert also served on the Advisory Boards of Ranken Technical College and Vatterott Technical College. He currently serves on the Executive Board of the Better Business Bureau.  He served as President of the UMKC parents association. He is also is a board member of Associated Builders and Contractors, serving as President in 2006.    He also served on the building committee of Chaminade College Preparatory. In 2004, the Better Business Bureau honored Hoffmann Brothers as the best service company in St. Louis with their World-Class Customer Satisfaction Award.   

Tom is married to Julie (Whalen) Hoffmann. They have 3 children, T.J., Katie, and Nicholas. Julie is a neo-natal intensive care nurse at St. Louis Children’s Hospital. T.J. is completing basic training at Fort Knox Army Base. Katie is finishing up at St. Mary’s University in the Pre-med program.  Nick is currently attending the University of Missouri-Columbia. 

Robert is married to Mary (Shultz) Hoffmann. They have four children. Stephen, Laura, Chris and Joey. Mary is the Plant Manager at Dial, Stephen is an attorney, Laura is in medical school at UMKC, Chris is finishing the Marine Officer Candidacy School, Joe is currently in Mechanical Engineering at University of Missouri-Columbia.
